「エンジェル」はカナダのシンガーソングライター、サラ・マクラクランの曲。1997年に4枚目のスタジオアルバム『Surfacing』に収録され、1998年9月28日にシングルとしてリリースされた。
解釈
ヘロインについての曲
この曲の歌詞は、マクラクランがローリング・ストーン誌を読んでいた際に、ヘロインに依存して過剰摂取に陥ったミュージシャンの記事に触発されたもので、その記事の中で最も有名なのは過剰摂取で亡くなったスマッシング・パンプキンズのキーボード奏者、ジョナサン・メルヴォインであった。歌詞の中の「天使」とはヘロインのことである。
