　「モーニング・グローリー」はイギリスのロックバンド、オアシスの2枚目のスタジオアルバム『モーニング・グローリー』((What’s the Story) Morning Glory?)に収録されたタイトル曲で、このアルバムは1995年10月2日にクリエイション・レコードからリリースされた。

解釈

　コーラスの「What’s the story, morning glory?」(どんな話？朝顔？)は1963年の映画『Bye Bye Birdie』で広まった言葉で「朝顔、どんな話？ ナイチンゲール、どんな話？」と若い女性が電話に出るときに、良い噂話を期待して挨拶としてこの言葉を使うというもの。つまり、この言葉自体には大した意味がない。

　1994年にノエル・ギャラガーが失恋した後、一緒に過ごしたメリッサ・リムによると、電話に出るときに彼女がこのフレーズを使っていたのをノエルが気に入って歌詞に採用したという。

　物騒に思えるフレーズだが、単にモーニングルーティンとしての髭剃りのことを言っているのかもしれない。
