「ペインテッド・ベル」は1971年にリリースされたボズ・スキャッグスの3枚目のアルバム『モーメンツ』に収録された曲。ローリング・ストーン誌の評論家チャーリー・バートンは『モーメンツ』を「ロック界で、最近出たアルバムの中で最も超越的なアルバムの一つ」と評した。
解釈
Cos it’s me, the rain, my warm dark pain
翻訳の難所。天文学の用語でwarm dark matter(ウォームダークマター)というものがあり、その意味は高温のダークマターと冷たいダークマターの中間の特性を持つダークマターのこと。ダークマターは天文学的現象を説明するために生まれた仮説上の光学的に観測できない物質のこと。
