曲情報

　「Sunshine」（サンシャイン）は、アメリカのハードロックバンド、Aerosmith（エアロスミス）の楽曲で、Steven Tyler（スティーヴン・タイラー）、Joe Perry（ジョー・ペリー）、Marti Frederiksen（マーティ・フレデリクセン）によって作詞作曲された。2001年中頃にアルバム『Just Push Play』からプロモーション・シングルとしてリリースされた。

　バンドは本楽曲のミュージックビデオ撮影を完了させるため、カリフォルニア州アーバインでのライブをキャンセルすることとなった。

　歌詞には「I followed Alice into wonderland（アリスについてワンダーランドに入った）」、「Took to the hatter like a walk in the park（帽子屋と散歩のように気軽に打ち解けた）」、「I ate the mushroom and I dance with the queen（キノコを食べて女王と踊った）」、「I chased that rabbit up her Bodhi Tree（そのウサギをボーディの木に向かって追いかけた）」、「That caterpillar’s tryin’ to cop a plea（あのイモムシは言い訳をしようとしている）」といった、『不思議の国のアリス』を彷彿とさせるフレーズが登場する。また「She’s finer than a painted rose（彼女は彩色されたバラよりも美しい）」という歌詞は、ディズニーのアニメ映画版で女王の兵士たちが白いバラを赤く塗る場面への言及である可能性がある。

　ジャケットアートは漫画家のLarry Welz（ラリー・ウェルツ）によって描かれた。

　「Sunshine」はLSDの隠語でもあるが、歌詞中に登場する「Sunshine, the kind that everybody knows（誰もが知っているタイプのサンシャイン）」という一節からは、必ずしもLSDを指しているとは限らないと解釈できる。この曲は、バンドのオリジナルスタジオアルバムからリリースされた最後のシングルであり、2012年の「Legendary Child」まで新たなオリジナルシングルは出されなかった。なお、2002年の「Girls of Summer」と2006年の「Devil’s Got a New Disguise」はそれぞれコンピレーションアルバムに収録されたシングルである。

ミュージックビデオ

　ミュージックビデオはSamuel Bayer（サミュエル・ベイヤー）によって監督され、原作の登場人物たちが複数登場する。Steven Tylerはマッドハッター（帽子屋）役を演じている。
