　「ハンサム・デビル」はイギリスのロックバンド、ザ・スミスの曲。この曲は「Hand in Glove」のB面曲としてライブバージョンが1983年5月13日にリリースされ、その後、1984年11月にリリースされたコンピレーションアルバム『Hatful Of Hollow』にスタジオ録音バージョンが収録された。

歌詞の意味

A boy in the bush is worth two in the hand
茂みの中の少年は、手の中の二つのものより価値がある

　このフレーズは、「A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush（手にした一羽の鳥は、茂みの中の二羽に値する）」という諺もじったもので、オリジナルは「今持っているもの（確実なもの）が、まだ手に入っていないもの（不確実なもの）より価値がある」という意味である。

　モリッシーが改変したこのフレーズの意味は類推することしかできないが、かなり性的なニュアンスを含んでいると思われる。
